Canopy is in the business of planet saving

Every year, 3.4 billion trees are cut down to make paper packaging and fabrics such as rayon and viscose. Many of these trees come from the world’s most Ancient and Endangered Forests, integral for life on Earth. We work with more than 500 brand partners and the world’s savviest innovators to change that.

For nearly 25 years, we have worked collaboratively to transform unsustainable supply chains, catalyze innovative solutions, and keep the world’s vital forests standing.

We have a decade to turn things around, and, together with our partners, we’re driving solutions that are proportional to the challenges of our times.

Forging solutions with our partners

Canopy works collectively with some of the world’s largest fashion, food and beverage, and beauty and care brands, as well as publishers and printers, to bring forest-saving solutions from the margins to the mainstream.

Canopy’s Impact

Canopy is the environmental movement’s best-kept secret.

For the past 25 years, Canopy has consistently ‘punched above our weight’ delivering ambitious results and redefining what is possible in conservation and sustainable consumption. This is thanks to the strength of our partnerships, as well as our team’s tenacity, and focus on solutions. Together with our philanthropic and brand partners, we have secured environmental commitments from more than 500 brand partners, and greened the Harry Potter book series.

Over the past five years, we have transformed more than half of the viscose supply chain – now verified as ‘green shirts’ or at low-risk of being sourced from Ancient and Endangered Forests. And, we have fostered solutions such as mills in the US, China, and Europe that use waste streams, such as agricultural residue and waste clothing, to make the packaging and clothing that are part of modern life.

Canopy works tirelessly and creatively with our partners to drive change that is proportional to the ecological challenges we face. We’re proud of our collective impact, and also recognize the work yet to be done as we strive to protect our natural world.

Now, that’s a secret that deserves to be told.
